lieux dormants explores living materialites and entanglements between nordicity, seasons and flora through a frozen herbarium. this living installation showcases the laurentian flora frozen in bloom. the project aims to bring attention to the contemplative beauty of immobility, and to the slow, gentle passing of seasons by using ephemeral materials. each block displays a native plant species in full bloom, folding the timescale between seasons through the vibracy of leaves and petals encased in the materiality of a dormant winter. The project encourages Montrealers to celebrate the nordicity of their city and reconcile with winter (in all its forms). this project was done in collaboration with jonathan nesci and les éclaireurs.
